1. Who we are

Deer Farmers Friend is operated by Raised Rack Ranch, trading as Deer Farmers Friend. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this notice, meaning we decide how and why it is processed.

2. Personal data we collect and why

• Account data — name, email address, and login credentials. Used to create and secure your account and to sign you in. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
• Farm profile data — farm name, premise ID, and farm location. Used to label your records and to show your local weekly weather forecast. Legal basis: performance of our contract.
• Herd and business records you enter — animals, genetics, feed, medications, growth and antler measurements, contacts, planner events, expenses, sales, and income. Used to provide the record-keeping and reporting features of the Service. Legal basis: performance of our contract.
• Support and feedback messages — the content you send us. Used to answer you and improve the app. Legal basis: performance of our contract and our legitimate interests.
• Usage and technical data — device identifiers, browser information, IP address, log and error data. Used for security, fraud prevention, troubleshooting, and product improvement. Legal basis: our legitimate interests and legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your herd records for any purpose other than providing the Service to you.

3. Who we share data with

• Service providers / subprocessors — hosting, database, authentication, and error-monitoring providers that operate the app on our behalf, and a weather data provider that returns a forecast for the location you enter.
• Merchant of Record — Paddle.com, which handles the sale of subscriptions, subscription management, payments, tax compliance, invoicing, and related customer service.
• Professional advisers — legal and accounting advisers where necessary.
• Authorities — where we are required to disclose data by law.

4. Retention

We keep your account and herd data for as long as your account is active. After your account is closed we retain it for up to 30 days so it can be restored or exported, then delete or anonymise it, except where we must keep records longer to meet legal, tax, or accounting obligations.

5. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, correct it, request its deletion, restrict or object to certain processing, receive a portable copy, withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, and complain to your data protection or consumer protection authority. To exercise any of these rights, contact us through the support and feedback form in the app. We aim to respond within 30 days.

6. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, encrypted storage, row-level access controls that restrict records to the account that created them, and authenticated access to all farm data.

7. Cookies and local storage

We use essential cookies and browser local storage only — to keep you signed in, remember your session, and store your preferences such as saved pedigree entries. We do not use advertising or marketing cookies. You can clear cookies and local storage in your browser settings, though doing so will sign you out.

8. Children

The Service is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
